Bank PO is one of the most preferred choice of all those who would like to peruse a career in banking sector. Another reason is that the job of bank PO is the entry point in a bank without any experience and that too for a managerial post.In the upcoming years there is a huge requirement of Probationary Officers in the public sector ,Private sector and Foreign banks due to opening of new bank branches, expansion of services and retirement of employees.

Bank PO Recruitment 2012:


2011 is big year for all those who are expecting recruitment in banking sector for the post of Probationary Officers.In September 2011, For the first time in banking recruitment history, IBPS had conducted the First Common Written Exam for the post of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees and accordingly its result was declared in the month of December 2011 in which approximately 1.10 lakh students have cleared the IBPS PO Exam 2011.These students will be eligible for the recruitment drive conducted by 19 Public Sector banks.

This simply means that banks will no longer have to conduct their own recruitment exams for the post of Clerks, PO's and Specialist Officers and will use the IBPS Score card for their recruitment process and this trends is likely to continue for the upcoming 3-5 years as there is boom of recruitment in banking sector.

Bank PO Recruitment 2012 through IBPS :


There are 19 public sector banks that have participated in the IBPS PO Common Written Exam.For complete List of participating banks in IBPS, you can check the IBPS Official Website (www.ibps.in). Soon after the declaration of IBPS PO Result in December 2011, Union bank of Indian, Syndicate bank and Corporation bank has invited application from successful candidates in the IBPS PO Exam 2011.

Apart from the above mentioned banks, more banks are likely to conduct PO Recruitment in 2012.So candidates declared successful in IBPS PO Exam 2011 have been issued scorecards based on which they can apply for Bank PO Jobs in 2012.
 
However, those candidates who have been declared unsuccessful in the IBPS PO Exam 2011, must not lose heart and start preparing for IBPS CWE for PO in 2012 as we can expect the notification in coming 2-3 months.


Bank PO Recruitment 2012 Under Non-IBPS Banks:


Although the majority of public Sector banks have preferred to conduct their recruitment through IBPS but SBI and its associates have decided to conduct their own recruitment exams.SBI (Along with its 6 associates), the largest public sector bank in India have decided to stay out of IBPS Recruitment and will conduct its own recruitment exams.

Apart from these banks, PO Recruitment is open for Private banks (Including ICICI, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and Yes Bank etc) and Foreign banks (Including ABN Amro, HBSC etc). Candidates must check their recruitment notifications on their respective websites and accordingly apply for the same.
