Indian bank one of the leading public sector banks in India with international presence in Sri Lanka and Singapore was was founded by Annamalai and Rama swami Chettiar in 1907.With headquarters in Cheenai, the Indian Bank has a large network of 1923 branches that accommodates 22,000 employees.Indian bank was nationalized in the year 1969 along with 13 other major commercial banks.

Indian bank is always looking for young and talented staff in order to satisfy the ever increasing demands of its customers.Indian Bank invites applications from time to time for the personnel for various posts including Clerks, Probationary Officers and Specialist Officers.Prior to July 2011, the Indian bank is conducting its own Recruitment exams for the posts of Clerks, Probationary Officers and Specialist Officers but with the Introduction of Common Written Exams for the posts of Clerks, PO`s and Specialist Officers, Indian Bank no longer needs to conduct its own recruitment exams separately.

Indian Bank Under IBPS:

In 2011, IBPS had conducted Common Written Exams for Clerks in Nov-Dec, 2011 and For Probationary Officers and Management Trainees in September 2011.Nineteen public sector banks including Indian Bank have participated in the common recruitment drive by IBPS.This means that Indian bank can now invite applications from only the successful candidates in the IBPS Common Exams.

Who can Apply for the post of Clerks, PO and Specialist Officers in Indian Bank:

As we have discussed earlier that Indian bank is under IBPS, So students who are declared successful in the IBPS Exams are eligible to apply for the above mentioned posts in the Indian Bank.Successful students in the IBPS Exam will be issued score cards based on their performance in the Common Written Exams.Indian bank will then publish its advertisement for the vacancies of the above mentioned posts and accordingly call the students for the Interview (Based on their IBPS Score and other eligibility conditions.Indian bank reserves to right to call only those candidates who  rank sufficiently higher in the merit list.

When can we expect India bank Recruitment in 2012?

Indian Bank PO Recruitment 2012: As all of us know that IBPS PO/MT Result 2011 was announced on 12th December 2011 and as such IBPS declared 1.10 Lakh students successful in the exam.So its is expected that Indian Bank Recruitment can be announced any time.So students who passed the IBPS PO Exam 2011 must wait and start preparing for the Interview as it can be announced anytime.

Indian Bank Clerk Recruitment 2012: IBPS conducted the Common Written Exam for Clerks in the month of Nov-Dec 2011 its results are expected in February 2012.So we can expect the Indian Bank Clerk Recruitment from March-April 2012.

Indian Bank Specialist Officers Recruitment 2012: IBPS has announced the notification for Common Written Exams in December 2011 and will conduct the exam in March 2012.So we can expect the results by June-July 2012 and accordingly the Indian bank Specialist Officers Recruitment 2012 will commence from August-September 2012
